Philosophy

When Bernhard Gläss founded his company for lathes in Chemnitz in 1890, he was already focussing on drive technology that had to be robust and reliable. Even then, he was already in direct international competition, as this technology actually came from England.

We, his successors, have continued with this claim: Today, we are an international technology partner in the development of customised, high-precision special gearboxes.

We owe the success of our company not least to our customers' demand for highly complex solutions. The aim of our development work is to accompany their technological progress in an innovative way. The more intensive the exchange of ideas and dialogue with our customers' design engineers, the better.

Our product is the expertise - we also supply the hardware. The detailed customised solution consequently leads to a wide range of variants, which can only be manufactured efficiently using modern and flexible machinery. We understand quality not as technology, but as enthusiasm for perfection.

In reality, however, it is the flexibility, inventiveness and commitment of our employees that make us competitive. CHEMNITZER ZAHNRADFABRIK will only be able to successfully survive the vehement structural change with a workforce that always draws the will and strength from tradition to try new and unfamiliar things. In doing so, we are committed to our regional identity: Germany remains a future-proof production location for us as a family business, even after more than one hundred years.
