Drive technology - for more than 100 years
At the centre of German industrialisation, Bernhard Gläss founded a factory for the manufacture of lathes in Chemnitz in 1890, which developed into a major machine tool company by 1945. Since then, our engineers have been working on drive technology and rotary parts.
After two world wars, the expropriation and transfer to the IFA Nutzfahrzeuge combine and finally after privatisation in the course of German reunification, the company had to reinvent itself time and again - rebranding, rebuilding, restructuring, refinancing, redesigning and rethinking. And time and again, it was courageous and committed employees who were in favour of a new start and finally made a new building at the current location in Chemnitz/Grüna possible in 1993. CHEMNITZER ZAHNRADFABRIK owes its successful reorientation towards the development and production of customised special gearboxes to its technical expertise.
