Housing machining

No two gearbox housings from CHEMNITZER ZAHNRADFABRIK are the same. On the one hand, they are made of different materials depending on customer requirements, for example aluminium, cast iron or steel. The choice of material depends on the specific requirements in terms of strength, weight and corrosion resistance. On the other hand, the shape and size vary between 80x80x80 for a small bevel gearbox and 1000 x 800 x 500 for a gearbox that is used in a heavy machine tool.

The cubic machining of gearbox housings is an essential process in our mechanical production, which is indispensable for the functionality of our special gearboxes, due to the adherence to closely toleranced centre distances, fitting bores and surface qualities. Our modern horizontal machining centres with up to 220 tool positions and automated pallet storage systems are used to produce complex contours and shapes with high repeat accuracy in order to guarantee the performance of the special gearboxes].

Both programming and simulation with the virtual machine are carried out using Edgecam CAD-CAM software, thus ensuring process reliability.
